Burnout is one of the hottest topics in the news today. There are many words to describe it – one of the trendiest ones at the moment being “quiet quitting” – but people from all walks of life are feeling the strain.
One proven way to combat burnout is socialization with family and friends, and for me, I’ve always found that a weekend trip away is the perfect means to reset and recharge.
Every year for the last 15 years, my best friend from college and I get together for girls’ weekend. We’ve visited many places in that time, but this list features our favorites.
ALL INCLUSIVE WITH ACTIVITIES
The Lodge at Woodloch – The Poconos, Pennsylvania
Nestled in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, The Lodge at Woodloch features all-inclusive packages that include lavish accommodations, three artfully-crafted gourmet meals per day, stimulating speakers and workshops and experiences and activities for the mind, body, and soul.
SPA RESET
Rancho La Puerta – Tecate, Mexico
Rancho La Puerta is a world-renowned wellness resort and spa that was named the #1 International Destination Spa in Travel + Leisure’s 2021 World’s Best Awards. The property features four health and beauty centers each staffed by skilled estheticians and therapists who have been widely trained. The property is a true sanctuary focused on renewing body and mind.
MEDITATION
Mii Amo – Sedona, AZ
Mii amo is a resort destination offering rich immersion in Native American beauty, energy and inspiration, and offers 3, 4 or 7 night all-inclusive Journeys. The resort is intimate and fosters your connection with yourself and nature. FUN CITY
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Santa Fe is the nation’s oldest state capital city that features 400+ years of cultural fusion and history balanced with contemporary sophistication. Santa Fe – or The City Different – is a relaxing yet fascinating place to visit.
Just an hour's drive from Santa Fe you can catch the world’s largest hot-air balloon festival which will be held this year October 1-9 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It’s an incredible experience to see hundreds of hot air balloons grace the desert skies.
The next place on our girls' getaway list in Nashville, Tennessee, which we’ll be visiting later this year. Look for a future post with all the details.
If you’ve been waiting for a subtle nudge to take a moment for yourself – consider this post that nudge. Choose a place, get a friend or your partner on board, and book the trip. I’m know you’ll come back refreshed.
