While FedEx, UPS, and other private mail services will place your mail right on your doorstep, Rancho Santa Fe is one of the few communities in the United States where the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) doesn’t deliver directly to your home.
Instead, residents rent a post office box—either at the Village Post Office or the Post Office at Del Rayo Plaza on San Dieguito Road—to receive mail from the USPS. PO boxes can also be rented at The Parcel Place, a one-stop shipping and mailing service in the heart of downtown Rancho Santa Fe which offers 24/7 mailbox access in addition to shipping and packaging service, notary services, print, copy, scan, faxing, passport photos, and more!
While this might sound like an inconvenience, RSF Association surveys have consistently shown that most residents prefer this system, since they can socialize with neighbors when picking up mail, and can rest assured that their home address is kept 100% private.
If you would still like your mail delivered to your front door, no worries! You can route it through your PO Box and have it hand-delivered Monday to Friday via RSF Mail Delivery Solutions. This handy service can also pick up outgoing packages and letters, whether through USPS or a private courier like FedEx.
