Del Mar Country Club
Del Mar Country Club is a guard gated community in Rancho Santa Fe patrolled by security 24 hours a day. The community is built around a championship golf course, named Best Private Course by Ranch and Coast Magazine, and a 55,000 square foot clubhouse, with a range of amenities that cover golf, tennis, fitness, dining, and family programming throughout the year.
The golf course was designed by Joseph Lee and is known for its No Tee Time policy, allowing members to play without registering in advance. The course winds around brooks, waterfalls, and lakes across 5 unique tee settings. Practice facilities include a double sided driving range, and a pro shop and regular tournaments are also part of the membership.
But membership at the Del Mar Country Club goes far beyond golf. You’ll have access to 5 tennis courts—complete with clinics, socials, league play, camps, and both private and semi-private instruction—4 pickleball courts, a Junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, a kid's playground area, and more. The club is also home to state-of-the-art fitness centers, open seven days a week year-round for members, like the rest of the facilities. Just a short drive away you’ll find the incredible beach towns of Del Mar and Solana Beach, with all the best shopping, dining, and natural spaces SoCal has to offer. Meanwhile, the world-renowned Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is practically at your doorstep—so equestrians will be in paradise here.
Beyond golf, membership includes 5 tennis courts with clinics, league play, camps, and both private and semi-private instruction, 4 pickleball courts, a junior Olympic sized swimming pool, a children's playground, and state of the art fitness facilities open 7 days a week year round. The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is nearby, and the beach towns of Del Mar and Solana Beach are a short drive away.
The Butterscotch Lounge and Safari Club restaurants are both on site, overlooking the championship golf course. The menu features organic free range chicken, all natural beef, pork, and lamb raised without hormones or antibiotics, and sustainably caught fish. Most of the fresh fruits and veggies come from the club's own organic garden.
The 55,000 square foot clubhouse hosts wine tastings, social events, and private gatherings throughout the year. Venues on the grounds accommodate anywhere from 10 to 300 guests, making the Del Mar Country Club an excellent venue for weddings, galas, reunions, business conventions, and more.
The club is owned by philanthropist Madeleine Anne Pickens (the daughter of English course architect Bill Baker), who supports a range of charitable organizations including the USO, Wounded Warrior Foundation, SOF Foundation, SEAL Naval Special Warfare Family Foundation, The Blue Angels, and The Flying Leathernecks. Pickens also founded Saving America's Mustangs and the eco-reserve Mustang Monument, and the club supports retirement programs for military working dogs.
Public schools serving the area include Solana Santa Fe Elementary, Earl Warren Middle School, Torrey Pines High School, San Dieguito Academy, and Canyon Crest Academy.
