Rancho Santa Fe Farms
Known locally as The Farms, Rancho Santa Fe Farms is a guard gated luxury community with 24 hour security. Estates range from a half acre to over two acres, most bordering the golf course, and the architecture throughout runs Mediterranean and California Mission style. With excellent dining, shopping, natural spaces, and schooling, The Farms is set apart by its legendary golf course and accompanying golf club.
The golf course is the centerpiece of the community at The Farms. The championship par 72 course spans 240 acres and 7,050 yards. It was originally designed by Tommy Jacobs and Pete, Perry, and Alice Dye in 1984, redesigned in 2001 under the supervision of Tom Lehman (the only golfer in history to be awarded “Player of the Year” on all three PGA Tours) and course architect John Fought, and most recently underwent major renovations in 2025 led by Timothy Liddy and Golf Course Architecture.
Golf Digest has rated The Farms as one of the Top 50 clubs in the country for best players. Members have included Phil Mickelson, John Schroeder, Annika Sorenstam, Xander Schauffele, and Liselotte Neumann. Competitions held at the course include NCAA Regionals, Collegiate Invitational, USGA Amateur Qualifiers, SCGA Championships, AJGA Invitationals, and Trans-Mississippi Championships.
Instruction at The Farms is led by PGA member Johnny Gonzales, ranked by Golf Digest as one of the Top 50 Teachers in California, and Cory Scoggin, a former NCAA Division I Coach whose students have reached the Top 10 on World Amateur Golf Rankings.
The 36,000 square foot clubhouse hosts year round events including wine and craft beer tastings, bocce ball tournaments, family dinners, barbecues, holiday celebrations, and culinary courses. Members can also use the clubhouse for private events including family reunions, bridal and baby showers, and anniversary parties.
Education opportunities in this area are among the best in the state of California. Public schools serving the area include Solana Santa Fe Elementary, Earl Warren Middle School, and Torrey Pines High School. Private school options nearby include Lifetime Montessori, Diegueno Country School, Santa Fe Christian School, Fusion Academy, Cathedral Catholic High School, San Diego Jewish Academy, Horizon Prep, and Cal Coast Academy.
