There is a burgeoning arts and culture scene in San Diego and a thriving culinary scene. Over 6,400 restaurants in the region offer award-winning meals prepared by some of the region's hottest and newest culinary artists. One of the largest urban cultural parks in the United States, Balboa Park, is home to the world-famous San Diego Zoo. Additionally, it is home to more than 15 museums, numerous art galleries, beautiful gardens, and the Tony Award-winning Globe Theatre.
The county is also home to 92 golf courses as well as many other exciting activities and spectator sports, beachfront resorts, luxury spas, gaming, a vibrant downtown district, annual special events, unique holiday offerings, multicultural festivals and celebrations, colorful neighborhoods, and communities, a rich military history, and many other attractions.
