The Arroyo Preserve spans 68 acres along the southeastern edge of The Covenant of Rancho Santa Fe. This natural sanctuary creates a peaceful buffer between the community and nearby developments, giving residents room to breathe and connect with nature.
The preserve brings together different natural environments that make each visit interesting. You'll find yourself walking through wetlands, grasslands, and groves of eucalyptus trees. These varied landscapes create homes for local wildlife and add to the natural character of Rancho Santa Fe.
The preserve includes:
Take your time exploring the well-maintained trails, perfect for both walking and horseback riding. The paths wind through different terrains, making each journey a bit different from the last.
Unwind and spend a quiet afternoon fishing at the pond.
Make memories with your family at the designated camping area. It's amazing how close to home you can feel so connected to nature.
The preserve connects to something bigger—it's part of the 70-mile Coast-to-Crest Trail that runs from Del Mar to Julian. Think of it as your gateway to exploring more of San Diego County's beautiful landscapes.
Association members and their guests can enjoy the preserve from 7:00 am until dusk.
Available at no cost to Association residents through the Rancho Santa Fe Association Parks and Recreation Department at (858) 756-4652.
Just remember to get a campfire permit from the Fire Department if you're planning to have one.
